Update on me

Ever since the race 10 days ago, I've been sort of hiding out. I haven't been making the best food choices---but they haven't been awful. I usually have about 1500-1600 calories a day. This week it's been closer to 2000.

And the exercise has been off. I did do Zumba three times last week, and I did weight machines and ran/walked a couple of miles on Saturday.

I'm really having trouble getting back in the swing of things! But the odd thing is, I lost 1.5 pounds this week! Maybe my body needed a break from too much exercise and too low calories?

I had a great NSV (non scale victory) this week. While I've noticed a lot more room in my shirts, I've been frustrated that my pants are still fitting. Last week my MIL brought me a couple of pairs of pants. One was a pair of red jeans in size 24. (I started out in size 28). The jeans fit well. I wore the second pair (elastic waisted cotton pants) the next day. After I had them on, I realized they were size 20!!  I realize that different brands fit differently. The next day I pulled on a pair of workout pants I bought on clearance. They were 18/20's, and they fit perfectly!!

I just want to give a shoutout to my cheering squad at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Thanks for following my journey!!

The picture on the left was in May. The one on the right was last week (in the 18/20 pants).

  3. Love that size surprise! Yeah, I think after such a big event, both your mental and physical state needs a little break. Nice to see you back, though. :)
