Today is my weigh in day. I try not to get on the scale any other day. But I stepped on the scale on Friday and it showed a 2 or 3 pound loss. I didn't record it because it wasn't my "official" weigh in. Today, not only did that 2-3 pound loss disappear, but I am 1.5 pounds over last week. So, instead of reading "20 pounds lost" on my ticker, it says "15 pounds lost".
I know that weight fluctuates. I know that the scale is not my friend. But it is discouraging.
For one thing, I have only had one or two Pepsi since my last weigh in. None since Wednesday.
This morning I did not feel like doing anything. But I went to the gym and got on the treadmill. I tried to do my C25K, but I just couldn't do it today. I did finish a mile. Maybe later today I can do more.
I know there will weeks like this. I know I'm making lifelong healthy choices. But it's hard. But I will press on.

So sorry to hear this Julie but one thing that I read out of your post is that "its hard but I will press on" That's the attitude.
ReplyDeleteYou will get there, it may be long, but you will get there.
Many hugs
Keep going Julie! Love the picture. I can see a difference with that 15 lbs. Weight does fluctuate. And there will be weeks like this, but "pressing on" is the thing to do. It's hard, but the best things usually are :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you! Hang in there!
Hang in there, Julie! These kinds of weeks are very disheartening (I'm remembering one in which I showed a SIX pound gain), but you've got the right attitude. The weigh-in is one moment in time. What matters much more is what you did, not what that scale says in that one moment. It will catch up with your efforts. (The week after my six pound gain, I showed an eight pound loss.)
ReplyDeleteJust keep doing what you know is working. This week will be forgotten in the long run.
ReplyDeleteJulie - just keep on doing what you are doing. As you note, a few days ago the scale was down. Today it is up. It's a blip on the horizon and as long as you are following your plan, the weight will follow at some point.
ReplyDeleteWe've all had this happen - it stinks, that's for sure, but hang in there and don't let it stop you from all the progress that you are making...you ARE doing great!
ReplyDelete"This morning I did not feel like doing anything. But I went to the gym and got on the treadmill." Julie, you did more than I did today, yesterday, last week.... And I'm supposed to "know" all about this weight loss stuff! Trust me....we all go through this. All you can do is breath and try. Breath and try.
