Busy day

This morning started early with a 2 mile walk for March for Babies (March of Dimes).  The kids walked the 1 mile loop with me.  John started off with us, but then moved into position to take some pictures.  My first picture of me running!  I didn't run the entire way.  At the beginning, there were just too many people.  But I did do a couple of jogs.

The kids met me and walked the final 1/4 mile with me.  (Heather is in the purple jacket. Aidan is in the camo pants.)

I didn't realize John made it back to the finish line in time to take pictures. We ran the last little bit. (There was a photographer at the finish line.)

The kids enjoyed the bouncy house. (Heather is in the purple shirt. I don't know the boys).

Aidan had a volcano painted on his face.

After leaving the park, we took the kids to Celebration of the Arts.  All of the elementary school art teachers were there with activities for the kids to try.

Aidan and I participated in an expressive art activity. They played various music and we acted it out, but we had to stop when the music stopped. We were robots, water, fast, and slow. (Notice my iPhone strapped to my wrist.  I'm still in workout clothes from the walk.  Aidan is in the gray shirt and camo pants in front of me.)

Aidan played the drum along with a story.

The kids had a blast!

After dinner, John and I went out for a walk.  We walked the first lap (1/2 mile) together first (at about 2 MPH).  Then I ran about 2 laps (1.25 miles) at about 3.2 MPH.  John started a lap while I was finishing my run, so when I caught up with him, we walked in together.

Total, I walked or ran about 3 1/2 miles today.
